This quilt is killing me. I'm sick of working on it and I JUST WANT IT TO BE DONE.
I've done quite a bit since I posted about it last. The top has been all laid out, and is in the process of being sewn together.
Today is our anniversary- I'd wanted to have this finished (totally, completely!) because I was doing this quilt for us... I thought it'd be nice to have this finished by now. Oh well, getting closer I suppose.

It looks huge!!
ReplyDeleteUm, yeah.. It is enormous. Each square is 8.5 inches (and 12 inches point-to-point). When it's ready to be quilted, it should be about 115 square-'m hoping it finishes about 112 after quilting.
ReplyDeleteI'll use a blue binding to set off the white border, and my calculations tell me that I'll need a full yard of fabric for the binding!
Stunning...
ReplyDeleteIt is stunning!
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOn first glance I thought you'd sewn strip-sets together, then cut them into triangles and reassembled as two different blocks (one with dark out and one with dark in). Looking at your seam lines, it looks like you did more of a log-cabin / townhouse square approach.
ReplyDeleteWhatever. It takes a lot of ... a lot of ... gumption? ... stuff? ... stick-to-it-ness to do any king size, but especially one with so few variations in color and pattern. It's "easy" to do, but sure takes A LOT of time, huh?!
Are you still liking it for you? I sure hope so with all the time and effort you've put into it! :D
I can totally relate to how you feel about this quilt. I do not quilt, but it is really something to start on something this intense and want to be done. This quilt is really pretty and you are going to be thrilled with it when it is done, huh? Good luck! Happy anniversary! Kayce
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for all of your sweet comments! I'm not sure if I'll finish this thing now or put it away for a while, but I'll post about whatever I end up doing!
