But first, I need to show off the finished block that I made for Rita. I showed a peek weeks ago, but never showed the finished product:
I'm not sure if I'm just not creative, or if I'm mad for this block, but I LOVE this block- so I did it again for November's block (for Buffy).
I really love how it turned out. I had something completely different in mind for a border, but I didn't have enough fabrics to do my original plan so I went for a scrappy border... which ended up still not big enough, so I added another scrappy border outside of that. This block used a ton of fabric, but I'm really happy with it and I hope that Buffy is, too!

Both of these blocks are amazing! I'll have to learn that one ... it's soooo cool. Great job, Blondie!
ReplyDeleteThanks! From what I understand, the block I tried to copy (from a picture on a blog!) is paper-pieced. I've made both of these from scratch and with trial and error, but I like that I was able to figure it out and make it work. The center squares in the two blocks above are different sizes and I'm not sure I would have been able to do that if I were paper-piecing it.
ReplyDeleteI did learn a lot while I was making these, and I think that Buffy's turned out better than Rita's... I hope Rita doesn't mind!
Looks great! I like figuring things out like that too :)
ReplyDeleteHey - I tried leaving a comment here last week - i should have emailed you, but this comment box was not working. . . I had the same problem. fyi
these both look fantastic! it's cool how different fabric changes the block so much. great work!
ReplyDeleteBlondie these look great! I like the scrappy boarder. How big did they turn out?
